Educational Alliance Brings Additional Workforce to Northwest Pennsylvania
Like many fabricating, manufacturing and metalworking companies across the U.S., those in northwest Pennsylvania have experienced a shortage of qualified welders during the past several years. That's until the Erie County Welding Course Initiative was formed out of an alliance between the Erie County Technical School (ECTS), manufacturers and local business organizations.
To meet the region's demand for certified welders, the Welding Initiative allows participating companies to train and certify their newly hired welders off-site at ECTS. Through the Welding Initiative, students earn the certifications required by his or her hosting company.
When it came time to procure equipment for the program, Welding Initiative leaders were on an extremely short timeline. That's when General Welding Supply of Erie, Bernard and Miller Electric quickly stepped up to the plate and provided an arsenal of Bernard® Q-Guns™ with Centerfire™ and Miller XMT® 304 and 456 CC/CV inverter-based power sources, along with valuable technical support.
Find out how General Welding, Bernard and Miller worked with needs of ECTS and the Erie County Welding Initiative.
